The Ford F-150 series has been one of the most popular vehicle lines, making it not only currently the best-selling vehicle in America, but also the best-selling vehicle of all time. How does Ford do it? They raise the bar, year after year. Introducing 10-speed automatic transmission will do it again.
The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is just the latest Ford model to change the game, with the industry’s first 10-speed automatic transmission, which Ford created in conjunction with General Motors. Both the F-150 Raptor and the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 use the transmission.
This new style of transmission is being praised for its powerful performance while still fitting nicely within EPA guidelines. Of course, both the Raptor and the Camaro ZL1 are serious trucks, frequently used for their serious power.
Ford representatives have said not to expect a 10-speed transmission in an average passenger car anytime soon, but the fact they were able to create such a thing for the Ford Raptor has our hopes high anyway. Who knows what they have up their sleeves?
