For folks who love to be active, the 13th Annual MOM 5K Run/Walk for Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention is a great way to exercise while helping a great cause. The run is on May 5th, so sign up soon!
Or, check out Northern Lights 1966, presented by the Mosaic Youth Theater of Detroit. On May 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th, attend a performance of the play that follows a group of students fighting for equality in education in the year before the 1967 Detroit riots.
Maybe you’d prefer something food-oriented, like the Downtown Royal Oak Wine Stroll on May 19th. One ticket gets you food and wine samples at 18 local restaurants, and you want and stay as long as you would like.

on June 16th. Juneteenth is celebrated to commemorate the end of slavery in Texas in 1865, and the Books, Poetry & Art Fair specifically celebrates African American art and literature.
