2018 F-150 Performance Upgraded, Adding Power

2017 Ford F-150

The F-150 has been the most popular pickup in the US for 40 years due to its impressive design, capabilities, and power. In fact, 2018 F-150 performance is getting a boost thanks to some improved powertrains for the latest model year. There will be a whopping five engine options for the 2018 F-150.

According to The News Wheel, the five engine options include the 3.3-liter V6, 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, 5.0-liter V8, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and 3.0-liter Power Stroke V6 turbodiesel. The new 3.3-liter engine replaces an older 3.5-liter engine, offering better efficiency and up to 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.

Other improvements include an added 25 lb-ft of torque to the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine, while the 5.0-liter V8 has an extra 10 horsepower and 13 lb-ft of torque. This power plant will now be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and it gets dual power direct-injection engine technology, among other things.

While Ford hasn’t released all the specs on the Power Stroke engine, it’s expected to add some horsepower and improve capabilities. We do know that the tuned F-150 Raptor gets up to 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, perfect for anyone looking for added power. To learn more about the 2018 model year, visit Romeo Ford today.
