It’s not uncommon for automakers to strike deals with major television producers and providers. Ford is continuing its relationship with NBC, this time by integrating the 2017 Ford Escape SUV into two prime-time shows. The SUV made its television debut in “The Blacklist” and “Blindspot” back in May.
“The Blacklist,” starring Mozhan Marno, features an FBI agent who interacts with the new SUV in several TV spots. This is the third year that Ford has struck a deal for its vehicles in the popular show. In “Blindspot,” starring Ashley Johnson, an FBI agent looks over the SUV as though it were a crime scene.
Both pieces of content were created jointly by NBC and Ford and aired throughout May. They focused on several aspects of the Escape, including the Sync connectivity and infotainment system. At the end of the spot, viewers were directed to NBC.com where they could enter to win a Ford Escape.
“The Blacklist” airs at 9 p.m. EDT on Thursdays while “Blindspot” airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. EDT. This isn’t likely to be the last time we see a Ford vehicle on prime-time television.
