The annual Michigan Peach Festival is held year after year in Macomb County. The five-day festival is full of popular attractions that attract thousands of visitors year after year. The festival celebrates children, veterans, hot rods, and more. Here are some highlights from the 2016 Michigan Peach Festival over Labor Day Weekend from us here at Romeo Ford.
Fresh peach pies and buckets of peaches are two main highlights of the Michigan Peach Festival. Residents and visitors enjoy the delicious foods offered by local growers. Bottles of peach cider are a drink rather unique to the area.
The festival also had rides for children that ranged from carnival rides to a Ferris wheel. All in all, everyone had a great time!
Possibly the greatest highlight of the Michigan Peach Festival was the Floral Parade. The parade featured beauty queens, hot rods, military units, and bands from area high schools.
The Michigan Peach Festival celebrated its 85th year and has widely become known as one of the best summer-ending traditions in the state. One couple, Phil and Sandy Nadeau, have attended the last 35 festivals and parades.
“We really only come here for the Peach Festival,” said Phil Nadeau. “We’re loving it. I’ve spent more money at this festival than I have anywhere else this summer.”
“I love peaches,” said Sandy Nadeau.
The annual Michigan Peach Festival is an event you don’t want to miss!
